Hi, I'm Miguel!

A Colombian filmmaker and Creative Director who relocated to the United States in 2012. I began my career as a classical music composer, but my love of storytelling soon drew me to film, animation, and design. Over the past decade, I’ve written, directed, and animated short films, documentaries, and music videos that have screened at more than thirty festivals worldwide. My latest short, No Vacancy, is currently Oscar qualified after winning the top animation prize at LALIFF.

Alongside my filmmaking, I’ve worked as a Creative Director and Senior Motion Designer, leading design and animation projects for some of the world’s most influential brands, including Google, Squarespace, Elastic, and CrowdStrike. With a strong background in both 2D and 3D techniques, I’ve created a wide range of engaging visual stories, including ads, explainers, IPO launches, UI animations, documentaries, and digital displays in Times Square. Earlier in my career, I wrote cultural essays and opinion pieces for Universo Centro, a leading independent newspaper in Colombia.
